This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading global drug development services company which provides support to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical devices industries.

At Covance Market Access Consulting we partner with our clients - pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies, including large global corporations and small regional firms - to help them achieve optimal market access for their products, thereby maximising commercial success.

Our consultants have solid scientific credentials and provide expertise in fields such as market assessment and stakeholder research, health economic modelling and outcome research studies, development of launch strategies, and value communication. We develop strategies based on research and analysis which provide our clients with in-depth understanding of the marketplace, the opinions of payers and other decision-makers, and the anticipated market access challenges they may face.

This helps our clients plan for launch and beyond. We generate evidence to demonstrate the comparative value of our clients' products. We distil the value of the product into easy-to-use suites of communication materials and tools - based on clear and consistent arguments - which can be tailored for maximum impact with different audiences.

We are looking for exceptional candidates for a health economist role (Senior Associate), with a specific remit for modelling. The successful candidate will be involved in working projects in the context of our market access consulting business, i.e. developing health economic models that further our clients' objectives. The role involves working closely with other members of the modelling team and collaborating with other multidisciplinary consultancy teams in London and other locations. You will be expected to provide technical and strategic input, and actively engage in in the market access consulting services and business development.

This will be a permanent, full time position, office-based in London.

Within this position, your duties will include:

* Design and develop health economic models (e.g. cost-effectiveness, cost-utilisation, cost minimisation, budget impact etc.; mainly Excel-based)
* Literature reviews, targeted and systematic, with a focus on identifying data supporting models
* Statistical and data analysis
* Development of supporting technical documentation and manuscripts
* Contribute to development and maintenance of client relationships
* Monitoring project progress ensuring adherence to budget and timelines
* Contribution to business development activities
* Training and mentoring of junior staff

To be successful in this position, you will need to hold a life-science degree, clinical or health economics degree (Masters or PhD preferred). Candidates must be bright and resourceful all-rounders with:
* At least 2 years (3 years for candidates without formal health economics qualifications) of market access consultancy experience within health economic modelling - ideally including models for HTAs as well as presentational models
* Exceptional numeracy and logical skills
* Excellent written English
* A creative and inventive approach
* First-class attention to detail
* Experience of systematic literature reviews and network meta-analyses is a bonus
