A Data/Migration Engineer - SAS, Salesforce, SQL, AWS is needed for a migration project, working as part of multi-disciplined squad using agile methodologies to help migrate our SAS CI CRM data and campaign selection functionality to our cloud-based data warehouse and SaaS CRM platform.We need candidates who can actually do the migration, not just write about it or advise. Good SQL and some cloud experience (preferably with AWS).

Job Duties

  • Ensure the delivery of secure and efficient data products to project timescales. In this case, help migrate our SAS CI CRM data and campaign selection functionality to our cloud-based data warehouse and SaaS CRM platform.
  • Take ownership of incidents and problems and work them through to a successful conclusion.
  • Expected to provide accurate estimates for stories within the work stream.

Essential Requirments
  • Demonstrable knowledge of database design, modelling and best practice
  • Very strong SQL skills
  • Database troubleshooting & performance tuning techniques to cope with the challenges presented by large data volumes
  • Excellent knowledge of industry best practices, methodologies, techniques, tools, resources and data legislation
  • SalesForce knowledge, SAS CI or another CRM product
  • Database technologies such as Vertica, MySQL and MongoDB or similar
  • An understanding of Cloud Computing, PaaS and SaaS in particular database, storage and ETL integration into the Cloud.
  • Significant ETL experience with a variety of tools.
  • Job scheduling, job and step dependencies, measuring success or failure (ideally using Job Scheduler, Rundeck, crontab or similar)
  • Analytical and scripting languages like R, Python or Spark
  • Knowledge of XML/XSD, JSON as well as CSV, delimited and fixed-format files
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Able to communicate ideas clearly (written and verbal)

Nice to Have
  • Kimball dimensional modelling and other modelling techniques.
  • Big Data technologies such as HDFS, Spark and other similar technologies.
  • Data Profiling tools
  • Data Visualisation and Business Intelligence tools
  • Source Control (ideally GitHub or GitHub Enterprise)
  • Continuous integration (ideally Jenkins)
  • SVN and/or Github code management tools.
