Position SummaryTo maintain and support internal network, workstations, mobile computer and telephonic devices. To configure and maintain customer network communication and allied databases. To maintain IT and Information Security controls as required by Werfen Information Security Management System for ISO 27001 standards.

The IT & Network Technician will work in conjunction with the Technical Services Manager, Field IT Specialists and Information Security Group to develop and enhance Werfen IT infrastructure and the network services provided by Werfen. The role is primarily office based, but will require infrequent visits to customer sites and other Werfen Group offices, under the direction of the Technical Services Manager

Key Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for the supervision and hardware management of our Windows AD domain, company PC’s, Laptop’s and Network Infrastructure. This includes first line support of colleagues and all required maintenance of physical / virtual servers and computer equipment.
  • Maintenance, configuration and support of the office network, both wired and wireless. This includes management of third party providers as required and upkeep of relevant support contracts.
  • Support for Cisco IP telephony system.
  • Responsible for support, IT security and system administration for all company electronic devices / IT Infrastructure in use by office based and field based personnel.
  • Ensuring data integrity of servers and production of backup data, safeguarding with sufficient redundancy systems.
  • Support for remote connectivity IT systems.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
  • Bachelors level degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in an IT, Technical or Support related field, with a minimum of 36 months employment experience post education.
  • Experience in IT system management.
  • Project management experience
  • Self-sufficient troubleshooting and diagnostic experience.
  • A good team working background in a customer focused role
  • Understanding of or experience working with In-Vitro Diagnostics equipment an advantage.
International Mobility:
  • Required: Yes – Infrequent training and meetings
Travel requirements:
  • 95% office based, 5% field based activity
