aspire cambridge ltd are currently recruiting for a Electrical Design Engineer to join a rapidly growing company based in Norwich. They require an Electrical Design Engineer to join the team on a full time permanent basis. The role of Electrical Design Engineer is to create, oversee & undertake the design of electrical systems.Main duties: Design / develop technically appropriate & value-engineered solutions as required by the project / contract, budget & associated standards. Deliver assigned / design activities on-time & to cost (in accordance with all Standards & contractual requirements). Deliverables include but are not limited to detailed drawings, General Arrangements, supporting calculations (where applicable) & detailed Bill of Materials produced in accordance with Company procedures / Standards. Produce electrical drawings, design documentation & technical reports as required by the project / requirement in a manner which is efficient & that continually enables the Company to deliver the best levels of service & efficiency. Generation of Functional Design Specifications. Generation of PLC I/O & Telemetry Schedules. Continually employ the principles of Design for Manufacture & value engineering throughout design undertakings, but never deviating from or compromising designated Standards / requirements. Work to British (BS), European (EN) & other Standards, including specific customer specifications. Maintain knowledge of the relevant parts of the Health & Safety At Work Act, BS EN 61439, EMC & all associated Regulations. Liaise regularly with the customer, client, contractors, Project Manager & other members of the Design Team. In particular, issues, non-compliance & shortfalls should be communicated in a timely manner & in writing. Design & undertake product testing, which demonstrates specification adherence. Where applicable, record, analyse & interpret test data. Skills and experience: 3+ years experience of electrical design / engineering within a customer facing environment. Competence producing CAD design files. Comprehensive knowledge of electrically related Regulations such as BS EN 61439 & EMC. Commercial awareness Health & Safety awareness. Excellent IT skills including, but not limited to, Word Processing, Spreadsheets & Databases. Educated to a minimum of a HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering. A passion for delivering quality, value & exceptional customer service. Strong time management skills & motivation ability to work using own initiative, to deadlines & constraints. Ability to communicate effectively in written & verbal formats (suitable for internal & external audiences). Analytical abilities. Ability to work & contribute effectively within a team.
