Senior Programmer6 Months Contract
A driven software development professional is required in the Trading Systems development team. The role involves developing and supporting trading gateways and interfaces to BGCs proprietary matching engine as well as development on the matching engine itself. The candidate will ideally have experience using FIX/ITCH/OUCH protocols within an HFT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Senior developer with responsibilities of design and implementation
  • Support of the existing trading gateways
  • Skills/Experience:


  • Knowledge of FIX/ITCH/OUCH and hands on experience of building applications that use it such as trading/market data gateway
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing software in C and C++
  • A good knowledge of the Linux operating system (system calls, multi-threading, IPC, sockets).
  • Experience of programming techniques used in HFT systems such as lock-less queues, circular buffer
  • Experience of an industry strength messaging architecture such as Solace/29 West
  • A good understanding of efficient in-memory data management and associated data structures and techniques
  • Experience developing client/server applications
  • Experience with troubleshooting and performance optimization tools.
  • Desirable

  • Good working knowledge of any of the following business areas: Fixed Income, Money Markets and Derivatives.
  • Qualifications/Education:

    Education to degree level is preferred.

    • Good written and oral communication is essential.
