We are looking to recruit a full time Care Nurse within the London Region to work in partnership with a busy NHS continence care department.

We are looking for an experienced Nurse with bladder and/or bowel management experience to develop and deliver urology care in collaboration with the NHS team

The Role:

Reporting to the Nurse Manager for the South you will provide an ethical continence care service to patients

Accept/follow up and provide advice for referrals from Hospital and community health care professionals

Set up and run clinics in community settings

Undertake patient home visits if required

Provide an expert level of professional and clinical care utilising evidence based practice

Communicate effectively and provide feedback to referring/managing Healthcare professional

Effectively and efficiently plan, manage and organise clinical workload and time

Maintain clinical records and reporting in accordance with Company/legal and professional requirements

Instigate working practices to ensure collaboration between members of the acute/community health care teams

Generate and maintain effective communication and working relationships with all appropriate health care professionals

Deliver educational support to fellow health care professionals

Undertake service audit, service/ patient outcomes and evaluation activities

Maintain professional portfolio in accordance with NMC requirements

Take responsibility for keeping up-to-date with trends/changes in the NHS and clinical developments within specialty

We are looking for a Specialist Nurse with experience in managing bladder and bowel management to work in Partnership with these busy NHS urological care departments. Having clinical expertise is our first priority, but experience within the commercial nurse sector would be an advantage, although not essential.

Qualifications

Registered General Nurse qualification

Achieved or working towards Nursing Degree qualification

Person/Experience Required

Experienced in continence or urology

Delivering Professional and Ethical care to urological patients

Supporting integrated urological care in both acute and primary care

Expert clinician with sound interpersonal and relationship building skills

Independent Practitioner: self-motivated and driven around planning and caseload management

Communication: collaborative working with NHS partners supporting patient outcomes

Be open and receptive to developing the role to include supporting patients in the use of Peristeen Anal irrigation.
