Avaloq Innovation is now recruiting for a number of Software Engineer roles across multiple levels, from graduate up to 5 years' experience.

The Edinburgh Development Centre is about to begin a period of exciting growth in 2018 and beyond, and we are seeking passionate, talented technologists to support this growth.

If you have recently graduated, or have between 1 and 5 years' professional experience, we have brand new roles now available across several of our high-performing teams. These teams are responsible for different areas of the Avaloq Banking Suite, which is a fully integrated, modular banking solution of back, middle and front office functionalities and is successfully run in the most demanding financial centres in the world.

Responsibilities are varied, and will depend on the team you join and the level of experience you already have. Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Maintain, review and improve code
  • Implement, test and technically document features
  • Analyse and resolve software defects
  • Analyse customer requirements and define/design solutions to address these requirements
  • Work closely with own team and wider teams to validate estimates and provide estimates for new features
  • Automate tests
  • Introduce specific team/component topics to a broader development community
  • Your Profile:
  • Degree educated in Software Development or Computer Science, or Maths/Physics graduate with some professional experience in software engineering
  • Recent graduate or up to 5 years' post-graduating experience
  • Fluent English speaker - German language skills are an advantage
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Quick to learn and apply new skills
  • Knowledge of (or keen interest in) the Banking/Fintech industry
  • Well-developed communication skills, with a strong customer focus
