KCOM are currently recruiting for a Graduate to work within our IT department in the Software Development area.

We are looking for candidates with the following:
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent, in a Business, IT or Computing focused discipline
  • Enthusiasm, self-motivated and driven by high standards
  • Strong analytical ability and an aptitude for problem solving
  • A passion for keeping up with pace of modern technology

Further role specific information:

Software development is a fast-moving discipline that provides different challenges and opportunities every day through a variety of activities whether it be designing the solution to a problem, developing a new application or implementing a crucial bug fix. In this role you will have responsibility for the full software application lifecycle.

Knowledge of the following is also desirable:
  • Object oriented design and development
  • Data structures and algorithms
  • Agile methodologies
  • Demonstrable experience with C#, Java or JavaScript

Previous Graduates:

During the past two years the KCOM IT department have successfully developed and supported a number of graduates in the role of trainee software engineers, and these individuals are now consistently delivering business change and improvements through software releases to applications used by the entire business. Several of the trainee software engineers have now attained the software engineer role with one being promoted to a Business and Technology consultant. Furthermore one was shortlisted as a finalist for the 'Young IT Professional of the Year' at the 2014 UK IT Industry Awards, and another won the KCOM 'Excellence Factor of the Year' award.
