Claims Validation Team Manager

Salary up to £27,000 pa

Reporting to the Claims Service Manager, you will manage the Claims Validation Team, ensuring first party claims are validated proactively to optimise spend and achieve high levels of satisfaction for the insured and the Company.

You will ensure claims are handled in the correct manner in line with legislation and best practice, detecting misrepresentation & fraud and ensuring policy conditions have been adhered to.

Main duties will include:

  • Ensure team are proactively managing first party claims to the point of Validation in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Reviewing evidence and making decisions
  • Referring claims of concern to the Claims Service Manager
  • Ensure the use of cognitive interview techniques to identify misrepresentation and fraud
  • Manage off-shore colleagues to ensure that relevant evidence from clients, witnesses and other parties in support of claims validation is collected
  • Review potentially fraudulent claims and ensure your people take appropriate steps to investigate
  • Support decisions on claims that are misrepresented
  • Issue written & templated correspondence to customers communicating any underwriting decisions arising from claims validation investigations
  • Ensure the recording of claims indemnity savings are accurately recorded against claim files and reflected accurately in reporting
