Growing legal firm seek a Finance Manager for their Slough, Berkshire office. Reporting to the Directors and managing a small team your key responsibility is to provide management and statutory information support to the company and commercial operations.

Key tasks of the Finance Manager include preparation of all management and financial accounts for local management. You will also have responsibility for all general ledger accounting & controls  (ensuring SRA Accounts Rules are adhered to) and that all balance sheet reconciliations have been performed and that all statutory returns have been filed including VAT and PAYE. The Financial Controller will also be involved in budgeting and forecasting activities and for the development of the small team

Main duties of the Finance Manager include:

Daily - Client and Office Bank reconciliation, monitoring cash flow, authorising CHAPS and BACS payments and maintaining the ledger.

Weekly duties - checking unallocated cash and office credits, review closed matters with outstanding balances.

Monthly - Preparing accounts to trial Balance stage, recognising and posting prepayments and accruals, maintain supplier payments and nominal ledger, administering loans and payments, review old client balances, send debtor reports to fee earners, send matter listing reports to fee earners, maintaining designated deposit accounts and balances, reconciling all bank accounts to the bank, matter listing report and TB and all month end routines.

Quarterly - Preparing VAT returns and checking to the TB and ensuring client interest is paid.

Annually - Completion of annual P11D and submission for review and maintaining Company accounts and compliance and payments to Directors.

Others - reporting to Directors and required and reconciling client ledgers as required by fee earners.

Ideally you will be a part qualified accountant, with previous experience in a legal environment, possess strong compliance skills ideally around SRA Accounts Rules and in return you will receive a salary of between £35k-£45k + benefits
