Main purpose/objectives of role:

  • Tomanage the pensions administration team of the Pearson Pension Plan, providing ahigh quality service for the Company, Trustee & Members.

  • To develop and deliver all administrativeaspects of the pension plan strategy.

Main activities/responsibilities:

  1. Management of the pensionadministration team to ensure that work is completed to a consistently highstandard within agreed service levels.

  2. Maintain a constant review of theallocation of resources, undertake detailed planning and proactively resolveproblems identified.

  3. Manage ad hoc work affecting thepensions administration team in accordance with agreed project plans, with settimescales and through to completion.

  4. Help develop and implement the administrativeaspects of the pension plan strategy, which includes proactive improvement ofexisting administration processes, a drive to improve efficiency, increasemember engagement and transform our digital services to members.

  5. Lead the administration team bymotivating and managing the administrators to provide an excellent customerservice to members.

  6. Create a team with a strong focus onthe members needs and ensure that the service the team provides matchesthis.

  7. Create and manage a personal developmentplan for each administrator and provide support, training and assistance wherenecessary to improve knowledge and skills.

  8. Ensure proper and full record keepingon the pension administration database as well as ongoing maintenance of the administrationprocedure notes.

  9. Ensure that the administration systemand procedures are kept up to date with any changes to Plan rules andlegislation.

  10. Develop and maintain effective workingrelationships with internal departments, HR, Payrolls, Finance and externalsuppliers.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Substantial experience of pensionadministration (at least 5 yrs) with excellent technical and legislativepensions knowledge.

  • Pensionspecific qualifications (PMI) would be desirable.

  • Proven track record in peoplemanagement.

  • Goodattention to detail and highly motivated in their work.

  • Strong written and oral communicationskills. Strong analytical skills

  • Solution driven and decisive. Mustpossess an enthusiasm to work collaboratively with other team members,colleagues and suppliers.
