Salary: £32,100 to £43,300
Location: Cambridge

We are looking for an aspiring infrastructure engineer who will focus on the provision, support and management of Cambridge Assessment’s servers, storage and virtualisation infrastructure. You’ll be working as part of a combined 2nd & 3rd line Virtualisation team supporting the latest data centre technologies, delivering excellent service to our customers and following industry best practice.

What you’ll be doing

    Providing technical support by resolving incidents, problems and service requests Participating in projects to implement new technologies including storage, virtualisation, VDI, backup and Public Cloud Working closely with other key technologies including Directory Services, Linux and Windows operating systems and applications Maintaining and upgrading core data centre infrastructure Gaining experience in the latest on-premises and Public Cloud technologies in a large scale environment
What we’re looking for

    You will be a confident communicator who is comfortable operating in a range of business and technical environments. You will be happy challenging assumptions and finding creative solutions to problems You will have a background in supporting IT systems and have experience of supporting Linux and Windows server infrastructure A working knowledge of VMware, networking and Public Cloud technologies would be very beneficial Experience of automation tools and scripting languages is desirable A working knowledge of ITIL principles is desirable
