Correvate Limited is a company spun out from UCL in 2017 who develop software for 3D technology. The focus of our software is to extract information from 3D data in an efficient and verified process to unlock it, thus, enabling better business decisions. Our first product, Vercator, is a software toolkit that allows the automatic registration of point cloud data and extraction of objects for the construction industry. Users of the product will include professionals, such as engineers, architects, and quantity surveyors.

We are building industry-leading software around data using the latest advances in computer vision, machine learning and cloud computing. The team maintains a high standard of code through automated testing, peer code reviews, a common code style. Location: Currently based in Kings Cross, London.

Rate: Circa £50,000 to £60,000, dependent on experience.

Hours: Full time


The ideal candidate will be working very closely with the software development and marketing teams across the business to create and implement the frontend GUI for our initial Java program.

·Write a user facing, user friendly Java GUI with functions in a Java library for our commercial image and data processing program for workstation running of the program

·Implement 2D and 3D static and animated visualisations

·Respond to commercial program user requests for improvements to the GUI

·Support the transfer of the program to a cloud-based implementation

·Design studies that aid understanding of user behaviour

·Maintaining UI and adapting as new features are developed

You will be working within a small, collaborative team that prides itself on bringing about novel ideas and techniques to achieve the objectives.

Key Skills

·You will have good knowledge of core Java (or J2EE), JavaScript, knowledge of other Object Oriented programming languages is desirable

·5+ years’ commercial experience in desktop or web-based user interface development, for example using JavaFX or other technologies including 2D and 3D visualisations

·Outstanding written and spoken communication skills - this role will be user facing

·Creativity combined with a pragmatic problem solving ability

·Cloud application frontend web interface development (AWS)

·An excellent understanding of programming best practices and data-driven design

·Writing automated software tests and writing testable code
