Position Summary

This position is responsible for software asset management including generalized knowledge of IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, VMWare and RedHat, as well as other major software vendors. A key function of this role will be to manage the daily care and feeding of the asset management/license optimization system.


The IT Software - Operations Analyst will be a member of the IT Asset Management Team who are responsible for the input, management, and maintenance of data in the Asset Management tool including licenses, warranties, order information, service agreements, entitlements, business details and contracts. Analysts will be responsible for managing a variety of data management tasks running the gamut of IT Asset Management processes.

Duties include:

·Serves as one of the corporate go-to resources for licensing questions pertaining to the major software vendors.

·Flexera software asset management analysis and reporting

·Helps maintain information in the Enterprise IT Software License Management solution to ensure purpose and functionality closely aligns with business procedures, directions, and strategies

·This would include license assignments, purchasing updates, new asset identification and updates, report generation, and other tasks as identified

·Routinely conducts risk assessments associated with licensing compliance to ensure all vendor contractual requirements are met

·Controls expenses within approved budgetary guidelines

·Works to reduce overall budget expense by managing licensing effectively

·Other duties as assigned

General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·Understanding of software licensing across key vendors for example IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, VMWare and RedHat,

·Working knowledge of Flexera’s Flexnet Management Suite and ServiceNow

·Ability to understand and apply concepts pertaining to software licensing.

·Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools

·Possess solid organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task in an ever-changing environment.

·Knows and understands business needs and has the ability to adapt changing technology to business needs

·Requires a working knowledge of procurement and financial management principles

·Ability to interact with internal clients spanning the globe

·Skilled use of Microsoft Office package, especially Excel and related software applications is required

·Thorough understanding of the IT industry as well as demonstrated ability to understand and communicate technical information

·Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally as well as externally
