Wanted: IT Applications specialists with experience in supporting the complete lifecycle of enterprise-level applications.

The IT Commercial Applications team are responsible for the build, implementation and support of a significant number of systems and services across a wide range of technologies. These applications are used across Essex Police, Kent Police and also by partner agencies, and the team provides a vital service in ensuring that maximum business benefit is achieved from each of them.

Your role will include work across the service lifecycle. Either independently or as part of a project team, you will design, build, and implement services with a user audience ranging from individual teams and business areas up to multiple organisations. After go-live, you will provide a high quality technical support and advisory service to the user community, resolving incidents, fulfilling requests and applying configuration changes as required. You will also apply system upgrades and patches when required. You will need to be familiar with working to ITIL processes, including Incident, Change and Problem Management.

You will have exemplary communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to develop successful working relationships with colleagues and customers across the organisations as well as suppliers and other third party stakeholders. You will be flexible in your approach, and able to re-prioritise your workload at short notice.

The role is based at the Force Headquarters sites (Chelmsford or Maidstone), with occasional need to travel between these sites or to other locations across the counties. System-specific training will be provided, and there are opportunities for flexible working by mutual agreement. You will be required to take part in an on-call rota which operates outside normal working hours, at weekends and on Bank Holidays, for which an appropriate remuneration is paid. The hours are 37 per week, covering the core times of 08:00 to 17:00.
