As developer in the Technology and Frameworks team, you will be in a unique and challenging position, working in a team of highly trained and capable specialists responsible for components and tools which span both our core platform and the next-gen Front (E-banking) applications. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop, maintain and continuously improve the next-gen Front (E-banking) applications of our clients’ operations & the frameworks and applications at the heart of any bank's operations
  • Work in an small team operating in an Agile manner; participating in sprints, daily stand-ups planning, estimation and review meetings
  • Quality assurance and automated test implementation
  • Collaborating and contributing to projects across our wider Banking System
  • Collaborating with our Architecture and Design Board
  • Preparing and delivering workshops as a subject matter expert
  • Updating technical documentation in collaboration with business analysts and technical writers
  • Attend client workshops and demonstrate product expertise as a trusted advisor, gathering requirements and evaluating use cases to resolve client issues
  • Our Current Projects

    In an evolving market, where we are co-inventing banking, our projects are at the forefront of innovation:
    • Creating a brand new e-banking platform for our customers
    • Our team is responsible for a sophisticated notification framework used by the core and e-banking platforms
    • Developing the frameworks and tooling necessary to support the construction of high quality APIs used by Avaloq and our banks
    Technologies you'll use
    The team works across a wide range of technologies, including Oracle and PL/SQL at the backend, and Java EE in the middle tier. In addition, you will be exposed to a variety of frameworks such as Active MQ, JMS, Velocity and Apache Camel.

    We develop using mainstream development environments, such as Eclipse & IntelliJ, in conjunction with Git, Maven and Gradle.

    We also work with more proprietary technologies and development environments, particularly on the backend. We tend to not silo the developers in our team, preferring to allow them to work across the full technology stack.

    • Educated to degree level in software engineering or a similar field
    • Structured and autonomous approach to working

    • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical clients
