The role:

• Advising and assisting the first line on regulatory and compliance matters

• Ensuring ongoing compliance with existing regulation

• Keeping up-to-date with changes in the regulatory landscape and rules

• Have the ability to interpret rules, identify gaps in the business and implement the required changes to ensure ongoing compliance

• Undertaking and developing compliance monitoring for various areas in the business in the form of second line of defence

• Third parties – Onboarding due diligence checks as well ongoing monitoring

• Risk management – working the business to help identify, record and assess risks. Evaluate the appropriateness of existing, proposed new controls/remedial action. Ensuring the risk register is up-to-date and correctly reflects the risk of the business

• Production of Compliance and Risk MI

• Reviewing and producing policies, processes, and procedures in line with regulatory and company requirements

• Ad hoc compliance duties/projects

• Completion of various administrative duties

• Support and assist the compliance function as required

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Previous experience working in a compliance role advisory and/or monitoring

• Previous experience in an FCA regulated organisation/financial services with knowledge of FCA rules (CONC, DISP, SYSC) as well as money laundering, data protection etc

• Worked in/knowledge of Consumer Credit market would be advantageous however not mandatory if the person holds sufficient FCA regulatory experience and knowledge

• Internal auditors who have worked in a FCA regulated/financial services will be considered

• Quick learner who can interpret and successfully implement regulatory and operational requirements

• Able to simplify the articulation of complex regulatory/risk issues to a wide group of stakeholders, including senior management and external business partners

• Proficient in using MS Word, Outlook Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Ability to use MS Visio would be advantageous
