We are currently looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a leading company based in the Oxfordshire area. They have won numerous awards for their innovation and ground breaking discoveries within the drugs industry. A rapidly growing, multi million pound organisation with a global reach; they continue to strive to be the best pharmaceutical research firm within the market.

As the 2nd Line Support Engineer you will be responsible for bringing the IT support expertise in-house and play an integral role in establishing the IT function.


Your duties as the 2nd Line Support Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Provide support from desktop level to 2nd/3rd line whilst communicating technical support information to stakeholders and senior managers.

Establish the Helpdesk function and support clients on installations, MS Systems, general IT issues and tickets

Systems installations and configuration, monitoring, patching office and laboratory machines

Provide support with telephone systems including landline and mobile phones, including installations, replacements, VC's and meeting room setup support

Create documentation on progress, fixes, upgrades, and any related IT information for wider colleagues and knowledge transfer

Troubleshoot problems relating to local technology including LAN / WAN, PC's and Servers

Fix any application issues and verify solutions before implementation


To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the 2nd Line Support Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Experience working within a GMP environment Must have experience within a Pharmaceutical or Biotech related industry

2. 2nd Line Support experience

3. MS Windows client: XP/7/10

4. MS Windows servers: 2003/2008/2012

5. MS Office: 2010/2013
