PSD has been assigned to appoint a technically strong Senior Risk Consultant for a large consultancy practice, to deliver high quality advisory engagements to a range of Financial Services and other industry clients.

The successful appointee will be required to:

  • Develop new business relationships and produce business proposals
  • Build and drive the risk team to achieve budget / strategy
  • Take responsibility for teams of governance, risk and control specialists and subject matter experts to deliver your clients’ requirements
  • Lead a diverse client portfolio reporting to the Partner/ Director Groups
  • Manage and build day-to-day client relationships
  • Act as a key point of contacts for senior client staff, including the C-Suite
  • Manage projects/client engagements of varying sizes from planning to completion
  • Identify and document key systems / controls demonstrating compliance good practice
  • Perform engagements over a diverse range of governance, risk and financial activities
  • Provide management, coaching and guidance to others during assignments
  • Discuss review findings / issues with senior client staff and the engagement leader
  • Take responsibility for report writing and reviews
  • Manage assignment budgets


  • Relevant professional qualification (i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • A proven track record of experience in the Risk Assurance areas described above
  • Experience in financial auditing and controls-based auditing or advisory engagements
  • Considerable experience of building strong relationships
  • Experience of working with UK listed businesses
  • Capital markets experience
  • Experience in IT auditing and IT controls-based auditing or advisory engagements
  • Experience of developing, working in or managing risk or finance functions
  • Experience in working on audit or advisory engagements over the design and implementation controls frameworks
  • Output focused and able to work autonomously without day-to-day supervision
  • Experienced in delivering large and small projects from planning to completion
  • Experienced in coaching and developing other members of staff
  • Ability to develop client relationships
  • Comfortable leading teams and willing to proactively contribute to the team
  • Experience of working in a professional services environment

Remuneration: up to £90,000 plus attractive benefits package
