Trimble is recruiting for a Devops Engineer to fill an opportunity in Ipswich (Remote working option)

Primary Responsibilities

Develop new and enhance current shared public cloud services with consideration for Availability, Operations, Performance, Capacity, Security, and User ExperienceInvolves hosting solutions (full infrastructure design and management) or developing solutions around 3rd party SaaS offeringsFocused around security & cost management servicesIncludes creation of architecture diagrams, service description and operations run book documentationWhere applicable, train operations team to provide Level 1/2 support for shared public cloud services, act as Level 3 escalation pointProvide design and deployment assistance for divisions needing help on a project basisManage AWS best practices Work with a global team and are able to occasionally meet or perform tasks off-hoursRequired Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent experienceMinimum of four years of experience in IT operations, including excellent knowledge of networking, computing and storageMinimum of two years of experience with AWSWindows system administration and scripting skills, such as Python, Powershell.Experience must include deployment and administration of common Microsoft Windows platform components (IIS, AD, MS-SQL, etc)Linux system administration and scripting skills, including Bash and PerlExperience must include deployment and administration of common Linux server technologies (HTTPd servers, MySQL, NFS services, etc)Application operations, including Incident Management, Change Management, and Capacity ManagementExcellent written and verbal communication, with customer service skillsExcellent troubleshooting and problem solving skillsStrong desire to learn new things independentlyKnowledge of security best practicesDesired Skills & Experience

Four or more years of experience in IT or application developmentThree or more years of experience with AWS, including AWS CertificationDeveloping and supporting shared servicesConfiguration management tooling, including AnsibleDevelopment tooling, including Jira, Git and JenkinsOperations tools, including Splunk, PRTG, ServiceNowSAML integration and Active Directory / LDAP directory servicesAWS SDK experienceRDBMS or NoSQL DB experienceWindows system administrationUnderstanding of SW development lifecycle / agile processesGenerous Benefits Package:
