Head of Compliance or Senior Compliance Manager

The Compliance position has sole responsibility for all compliance matters and reports to the General Counsel.

You will initially be expected to be a ‘change agent’, that will develop and build a compliance function around people, process, and technology that will be fit for purpose when we are a billion-dollar company with 1,000+ staff located in multiple locations and operating across the globe.

You will have a broad compliance background including experience with Data Protection and Regulated Products and importantly will have worked for a global company with exposure to regulation in multiple jurisdictions. You will bring experience of best practice technology and processes, and experience in driving major change.


Responsible for hands-on design & build of a compliance function including people, process, and technology;

Lead Compliance, Financial Crime, GDPR and data protection planning and compliance programme including early testing of all changes;

Maintain a good working knowledge of key existing & evolving regulation applicable to the firm, including (amongst others) UK FCA rules and regulations, Advertising Standards, Data Protection and Privacy, and other regulations;

Develop and maintain network of advisors and subscriptions to keep up to date on changing regulation and ensure timely and commercial support growth plans;

Regularly review compliance policies and processes and conduct regular reviews of compliance activities across the business to identify any vulnerabilities and risks, and develop and implement any remedial plans;

Develop staff training programmes for all compliance areas. Lead staff communication and training on compliance at all levels;

Develop client/marketing literature around our compliance activities.

Our Ideal

At least five years’ experience in a senior compliance role,

Experience in a global business with multiple global offices and exposure to regulation across multiple jurisdictions including the UK, Europe and US, Experience in Data protection and privacy, with a good understanding of the forthcoming GDPR, Some experience of US privacy and marketing compliance areas (e.g. TCPA).

General experience around other compliance areas such as anti-bribery and corruption,

Experience of setting up and/or managing compliance programmes and controls, including use of technology,

Experience of implementing policies and leading training programmes,

Strong organisational and project management skills
