We are a well-established Hertfordshire based firm with clients from across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and London, who come to us because of our expertise in housing, public law, family (and employment) law. We have a thriving legal aid practice in all our areas of work together with an increasing volume of privately funded cases.

We are looking for candidates with an interest in and enthusiasm for housing and public law work. We provide a collaborative workplace where you will be well supported and supervised by experienced lawyers and have the opportunity to work on a variety of different cases, covering the full range of housing law.

Solicitors in our housing and public law team have an important role in supporting junior employees and in dealing with a varied and interesting range of work: from high profile strategic litigation to complicated land law disputes; from dealing with County Court litigation to regularly preparing cases for the High Court, the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court, and the European Court of Human Rights.

You will be expected to be conscientious and hardworking, to be flexible, and to produce excellent written work and establish relationships with a range of clients, from vulnerable homeless people to privately paying clients. We expect applicants to have at least 2 years PQE; a good degree grade from a recognised University or to have completed the CPE/GDL; Previous relevant experience and the ability to demonstrate a good track record of meeting billable and or time targets is essential.

Excellence in LAA compliance is required and an excellent working knowledge of CCMS is essential. A desire to undertake advocacy is welcomed though not essential. In return ARKrights offers a competitive salary with pension benefits, in a collaborative and supporting working environment.

ARKrights Solicitors has developed a niche in Hertfordshire and has a smaller office in Ealing, West London. We are looking to grow our housing law department[s], with individuals committed to advancing the law and their career in this specialist sector.
