My client is a major, hugely successful multichannel retail chain that have ambitious plans for the future. They are now seeking to hire an exceptional Head of/Director of Trading to spearhead customer focused trade and promotional plans.
Working closely with a number of senior stakeholders across the business from Marketing, Product, Ecommerce, B&M and Finance you will create and deliver the strategic plan that will ensure the ongoing growth in sales and profit.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop a deep understanding of the customer through a detailed interpretation of customer data by channel.
- Develop and direct trade and promotional plans to meet the overall business and product sales plans.
- Recognise and respond to key customer metrics such as footfall, conversion and average basket, as well as understanding and managing customer promotional response.
- Utilise data reporting that supports and drives the overall trade plan, with an ability to react quickly to customer needs.
- Have a clear understanding of the market place and external perspective to ensure the trade plan delivers a great proposition for all customers.
- Own the promotional trade planning cycle of activity to drive sales and profit plans.
- Ensure weekly, monthly and seasonal trade activity is planned and executed, as well as having a longer term strategic trade plan in place.
- Deliver clear communications with your key internal and external stakeholders across to execute successful promotional activity.
- Manage multi-scenario contingency planning, ensuring decisions and possible solutions are proactively identified in response to external market influences.
- You have a multichannel retail background.
- You are a strategic commercial thinker translating customer needs and commercial opportunities to viable trading and promotional plans.
- You have a strong analytical skillset with the ability to put the customer at the heart of decision making process.
- You will also have a track record of finding innovative ways to drive trade within your role and will be keen to test new ideas and approaches.
In this pivotal new position, with a strong commercial awareness and never losing sight of the customer, the Head of Trading will have a considerable impact across the whole business.
