International Medical Affairs Learning & Development Senior Manager within a specialist Biopharma. Plan, develop, and facilitate training that supports the high performance of Global office and field-based Medical Affairs staff.

BACKGROUND

Global Biopharmaceutical Company - Specialist Portfolio and Pipeline including virology and oncology.

International remit: EU, Middle East, Australasia and Canada - travel required

The role will be split between the office, travel and some home working

Opportunity for a Lecturer / Corporate Training Manager to join industry as a highly visible in-house international Medical Affairs Training Manager.

Opportunity for an experienced Industry Learning and Development Manager to progress their career to an international role with high autonomy.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Responsibilities of the Learning and Development Senior Manager include:

Manage Medical Affairs training programs and content development.

Partner with Therapeutic and Regional Medical Affairs leadership to plan, develop, and facilitate new hire and ongoing therapeutic area training programs (disease state and product-specific)

Partner with operational teams to ensure delivery of appropriate training on policies, procedures, and information systems

Prepare internal and external faculty to effectively lead scientific lectures and discussions

Facilitate workshops to support core development skills and drive successful outcomes

Manage external resources including physician speakers, content providers, and other training vendors

Work with the Global Medical Affairs L&D team, and international and country-specific Medical Directors to implement defined training programs aligned with the Therapeutic Area plans of action.

Evaluate the impact of training programs as they relate to key performance metrics

Lead the development of scientific training materials (including eLearning, eBooks, slide decks, and videos) by partnering with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Must possess a high level of comfort with clinical and scientific content.

Knowledge of virology and oncology is highly desirable.

Proven course development and instructional design skills

Able to partner with content experts to design and present clinical or scientific content-based training as well as operational training

With assistance from content experts, able to facilitate training programs to drive desired outcomes, control the agenda, supervise faculty and delegate participation, and manage conflict

Able to build effective relationships with departmental leaders across functions and geographies

Familiarity with distance/mobile learning concepts and Learning Management Systems

Able to source and manage training vendors

International experience is highly desirable

Relevant Medical or Clinical experience in a corporate setting with an emphasis on Medical Affairs operations
