PURPOSE

Your primary focus is to provide global leadership to the CNS medical delivery function here at QuintilesIMS. You will provide strategic input and operational oversight to challenges faced in the department and ensure we are driving the unit towards defined goals. This along with establishing the visibility of CNS offerings both internally and externally. You may also be responsible for serving as the medical partnership lead.

Operationally you will be responsible for contributing to the programme plan and achieving this by ensuring adequate resourcing and revenue recognition.

We can be flexible on location for this position.

MEDICAL MONITORING:

- Primarily serves as Senior Medical Oversight for the CNS programme/study portfolio and may act as Global Medical Advisor on some projects.
- Acts as Scientific Advisor and provides guidance to Global Medical Advisors, Project Leaders and customers on the medical and scientific aspects of assigned studies.
- Serves as project team and customer escalation point for medically related matters of the project or programme.
- May provide expert medical guidance for protocol development.
- Attend a present at Investigator & Kick Off meetings as required.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

- Line manage a team of regional & global medical advisors/directors; be responsible for planning and assigning work as well as appraising performance and driving professional development.
- Serve as global therapeutic area head by leading and implementing goals, defining processes, policies and SOPs for the department.

- Conduct and implement ideas generated from internal feedback surveys

MEDICAL STRATEGY:

- Develops medical delivery strategies for large, complex, multi-region studies or programs, including mega-studies and portfolio management.
- Responsible for developing the medical aspects of client proposals including the budget related to medical services.
- To provide medical and scientific advice to key internal stakeholders developing proposals. This may include, but is not limited to, providing strategic thinking to protocol design/clinical development plan, reviewing the protocol for scientific/regulatory soundness and feasibility, identification of target site and principal investigator profiles, anticipated patient recruitment, standard of care and competitive landscape.
- Actively supports sales in the preparation of customer and bid defence meetings, e.g. training and preparation of the assigned project team; provide specific content; ensure presentation focus and content effectively conveys medical inputs and strategy. Attends and presents at customer meeting, or bid defence or partnership meetings, as required.
- Participates in strategic business development activities including presentations to potential clients.
- Contributes to pipeline analysis and supports due diligence research of select compounds and/or companies, as requested.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

We are looking for someone with current knowledge of the scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial and competitive landscape in CNS with exceptional leadership experience. You'll need to have managed multinational global teams and demonstrated the ability to grow and develop these individuals professionally. Proven skills in providing consultation and advice on multiple assignments are required, as well as strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Strong Business Acumen, including operational and financial knowledge is also a must.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A medical degree from an accredited and internationally recognized medical school with a curriculum relevant to general medical education, along with a medical license, or equivalent, from the country or region in which you are based. Specialty Board certification desirable; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
