The ideal candidate will be capable of working on a school accounting system with minimal supervision. High organisational skills and excellent time management skills are required. The Accounts Payable Clerk will report directly to the Accountant as well as wider stakeholders to accomplish interdepartmental goals and objectives.

This is an exciting and wide-ranging role with a variety of responsibilities to include:

  • Purchase Ledger. Ensuring supplier invoices and expenses are signed off correctly; preparing for payment invoices received; inputting invoices for production of cheques/BACs and interfaces with the nominal ledger; dispatching cheques/remittance advices for BACs and filing documents; reconciliation of supplier statements and requesting missing invoices.
  • Nominal Ledger. Preparing and posting journals; assisting with reconciliations of bank, debtors and creditors etc.
  • Cashiering. Paying out petty cash; banking; preparing petty cash journals.
  • Other. Preparing monthly analysis of photocopying; answering telephone queries; dispatching accounting documents etc.

The successful candidate will possess the motivation, enthusiasm and commitment.

Ideally you wil be a car driver as the role is based in the outskirts of Hook/ Odiham.
