You will be responsible for key aspects of the business with a function as a bookkeeper.

This will involve the creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting software from source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices. You will also need to reconcile accounts to ensure their accuracy.

The below is a summary of the main responsibilities:

  • Daily reconciliation of sales invoice receipts and payments in QuickBooks
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Depict accurate reflection of company's balance sheet/profit & loss
  • Good understanding of depreciation, prepayment adjustments, accruals adjustments etc into QuickBooks
  • Good understanding of VAT and ability to prepare accurate quarterly VAT returns
  • Balancing accounts to trial and balance stage before handing to accountants
  • Overseeing all tax and regulatory compliance issues
  • Checking company bank statements
  • Checking pending invoices and approving payments to vendors
  • Managing all financial paperwork and filing
  • Payroll and pension duties including ability to enter accounting adjustments each month
  • Monitoring financial performance of the company
  • Managing credit accounts including chasing outstanding invoices
  • QuickBooks Integration
  • Maintaining all accounts and relevant financial software
  • Monthly stock reconciliation
  • Costings, forecasts, and sales analysis
  • Reporting to management


Essential Skills:

  • At least 2 years' bookkeeping experience
  • QuickBooks experience
  • Experience working in an SME business may be beneficial
  • Advanced Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft suite is essential
  • Good computer and IT skills especially with databases and financial software
  • Preparing and producing spreadsheets and experience using bookkeeping software will be necessary

Job Offer

Between £22,000 - £25,000 + benefits
