Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and
reconciling invoices. Being an integral part of the Finance team making sure that the
company pays its bills on time. Processes invoices received and applies them to the
right entity, departments, sub departments and nominal codes within Xero. Receives
bills, acknowledges the terms of the invoices, and relays that information to Head of
Finance. Making payments in accordance with the payment cycles directed by the
FD/business owners and help administer payments to self-employed subcontractors
and/or staff on payroll in some cases.

Accounts Payable Clerk Job Duties:

Receive and record invoices from suppliersObtain receipts or other verification when accounts were paidProcess the invoices and attach that information to the relative location ordepartment for job costing and financial statement purposes.Match and file invoices with their matching receiptsRecord and compare invoices received with estimates and/or forecastsMake sure invoices are approved in time to meet established payment cycleRemit payments on invoices as directed by Accounts Payable managementWork in accordance with the payment process outlined by the Head of Finance and the Directors of the BusinessPrepare and administer payments to self-employed contractors and staff on payroll as directed by the Head of FinanceAccounts Payable Clerk Skills and Qualifications:

Experience in accounts payable, Attention to detail, Understanding of basic
bookkeeping, Knowledge of accounts payable principles, Ability to comprehend and
manage financial records, Data entry skills, Talent for numerical coding, Enough
understanding of accounting concepts to properly code expenses, Organisational
skills, Communication skills, Proficiency with accounting software Xero as well as
payroll and accounts payable software
