Do you have experience of working with young people, particularly students with behaviour, social and emotional issues, supporting their learning and preparing them for future life?

The Quay School is a progressive educational establishment that supports young people through difficult times in their lives. Our different sites provide for very different needs and we are currently looking to employ a Learning Mentor to work at our Harbourside site in Hamworthy. Our Harbourside site supports young people who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from their mainstream school.

The Quay School takes great care to recruit the very best people so that the services we provide are first class. We believe that the best work gets done in an environment that's enjoyable and which values, supports and encourages the development of its employees. In return we expect our employees to work hard and be committed to help us achieve our vision and share our values. This is not for the faint hearted but incredibly rewarding!

You must be able to demonstrate previous successful work within an educational setting or similar, preferably with students with behavioural needs. You will need to have, at least, GCSE level English and Maths in order to ensure you are able to adequately support students in class. Flexibility, professionalism, the ability to use your initiative and a desire to see young people reach their potential are also vital. Your role will enable students to have full access to educational opportunities, overcome barriers to learning and will involve working in partnership with parents, carers and educational staff as well as students in a school context.

If the above sounds like you then we would like to hear from you. We offer a comprehensive support and training package for all.

Visits to the school are welcomed, please hit the Apply Button to show the telephone number to contact Lee Wilkins (Assistant Headteacher) to arrange an appointment.
