Learning Assistant - English and Maths

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maths and English Learning Assistant to join us at Hull College. This is a part time (18.5 hours per week over 36 weeks per year), fixed term role until 30th June 2018.
This will involve supporting students (identified as being in need of additional learning support) to improve their English, Maths and Study Skills across the Group in classrooms, workshops and one-to-one situations and is likely to include working with 14-16-year-old students. The post may include working with both HE and FE students. Some duties may also take place in Community/Work Based locations.
The successful candidate will need to have previous experience of supporting learning in an educational environment, and have the ability to support students on a range of mainstream courses. Excellent administrative and recording skills are essential for this role coupled with the ability to work as part of a team and establish rapport with students and staff across the group.
A minimum of Level 2 in maths and English and evidence of ICT competence is essential for this role. A qualification in supporting students and or a teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
