This company are looking for an additional member of staff to join theirfriendly IT team. The role is extremely varied and the successfulcandidate will be challenged on a daily basis. The successful applicantwill have a passion for continuous learning, will be flexible andpossess the ability to multi-task as their role may span one or moreareas of expertise. To be considered for this role, you will require thefollowing skill-set: - Experience supporting systems in a Windows (OS)environment. - Experience maintaining and / or configuring WindowsServers and Active Directory. - Networking (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, VPN) &firewall knowledge. - Experience delivering presentations &training. - Excellent communication skills. - Ability to work underpressure, and to deadlines. This role will report to the Head of IT.DUTIES / AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY The position will involve the followingareas of responsibility: - Ensuring the monitoring, maintenance,periodic testing, availability and integrity of all IT infrastructureand applications. - Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving supportissues proactively and seeing them through to resolution. - Providinguser training (individually or in small groups) which may includecreating procedural documentation, presentations and user guides. -Testing, evaluating and recommending system enhancements forimprovements. - Understanding the business needs in order to support thedelivery of appropriate IT systems within budget. - Planning andundertaking IT projects as required. - Performing some basicadministrative duties. - Other potential tasks (depending on skills& desires of successful candidate and needs of the company) couldinclude: making use of basic HTML to fix formatting issues on companyweb pages and offering further support to the marketing &communications team. QUALITIES, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Thefollowing are essential: - Minimum 12 months experience working in an ITsupport role. - Proven experience working with server infrastructure andconfiguring & managing network components including but not limitedto firewalls, routers and switches. - Experience creating and deliveringtraining procedures and setting system policies. - Experience planningand implementing one or more IT system changes. - Hard working andmotivated team player. - Enthusiasm for learning and ability to pick upnew skills. - Experience diagnosing and resolving complex technicalerrors. - Experience configuring and using Active Directory. - Desiredminimum: GCSE grades C in English and Mathematics. - BTEC Diploma or aDegree in a computing related field. - Relevant vendor specific /neutral IT certifications would be beneficial.
