Epson are seeking to recruit an Accounts Payable Supervisor who will be responsible for the day to day supervision and coaching of the Accounts Payable (AP) team. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will ensure correct, timely and efficient processing of all EUL vendor invoices in compliance with local legal regulations and Epson policies and procedures. They will also be responsible for ensuring accurate month end close of AP ledgers. This role is offered on a fixed term contract basis and the end date is expected to be the end of January 2019.

This role is based in our UK Head Offices at Westside, Hemel Hempstead.

Key Responsibilities:

(Daily) Accounts Payable Activities:

  • Oversee and ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor setup or change requests forms to minimize incorrect or rejected payments
  • Oversee and ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices in accordance with local legal requirements and Epson policies and procedures
  • Oversee and ensure accurate and timely payments are performed and reviewed in accordance with EUL Payment policy, before files are submitted to Treasury
  • Management of the NTPO application
  • Create and monitor weekly/monthly aging reports:
  • Follow up the status of unprocessed invoices in invoice query tracking
  • Follow up purchase order GR/IR discrepancies
  • Management of vendor / Purchase Order queries

Monthly activities (related to month end closing):

  • Prepare month-end AP aging reconciliation
  • Assist and participate in month end closing process
  • Ensure smooth and timely closing of the Accounts Payable sub ledger at month end
  • Complete reconciliation of Accounts Payable related accounts in time and follow up on correctness
  • Complete the various Accounts Payable reporting metrics at month end
  • Reconcile the AP Suspense Accounts

Strategic activities:

    • Ensure the Accounts Payable team is adequately trained to perform their tasks to the required standard
    • Ensure the Accounts Payable team is cross trained in various tasks and that a backup is in place for all activities
    • Support business in using SAP purchasing module
    • Formulate, maintain and update policies and procedures relating to AP activities and processes
    • Ensure Accounts Payable team complies with EUL policies and procedures and local legal regulations
    • Continuously optimize Accounts Payable process by automation and innovation and making suggestions for improvements of processes and procedures

    Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

    • Applications are welcomed from candidates who are qualified by experience and working as Accounts Payable Supervisors, Accounts Payable Assistants, Accounts Payable Clerks and related roles
    • 3-5 years' experience in Accounts Payable in an international environment
    • People management experience
    • Sound knowledge of using MS Office applications and SAP
    • Experience with General Ledger Accounting is desirable
    • Knowledge of VAT compliance reporting is desirable
    • Proactive and Result orientated
    • Experience of inter-company transactions is desirable
    • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance is desirable or sufficient relevant experience to be able to work and interact at all levels
