Job Description
An exciting opportunity has risen within the Sales function at Leonardo MW in Edinburgh for an experienced Campaign Manager to join the team. The role will involve selling world leading defence technology to a broad range of international customers and also a large network of highly skilled internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • The Campaign Manager will report directly to the VP Sales and typical accountabilities will include the following:
  • Establish comprehensive campaign plans to ensure successful delivery of the business plan in terms of order intake and seek approval from management for bid/proposal funding for campaigns.
  • Work with Capability department and Business Sector to establish strategies for products, to ensure technology route maps match customer requirements and to agree product development funding matches the route map requirements.
  • Provide Capability department and Business Sector with the market information required for the basis of comprehensive business planning - such market information to come from both internal and external sources.
  • Work closely with Selex Galileo Inc Business Winning team to develop the strategy in the US - both in terms of US End Use and export opportunities via US Primes.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to maximise order intake across the business.
  • Lead the Sales aspects of allocated campaigns. Prepare campaign plans, where appropriate, in accordance with best practice and ensure timely updates including critical actions and senior management engagement. Ensure all allocated campaigns follow the Leonardo Business Winning process.
  • Update customer market intelligence on a regular basis to ensure coherent business cases.
  • Manage allocated campaign Business Winning Reviews to meet Leonardo Business Winning process.
  • Where appropriate, recommend partners to allow more optimum business delivery.
  • Be seen as the natural leader in terms of customer interface for allocated campaign sales activities and campaigns.
  • Represent the Line of Business interests, establish appropriate relationships with and develop an understanding of business opportunities within and across Leonardo. Represent the Line of Business externally at exhibitions, symposia, focussed Leonardo Capability events etc.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Demonstrate ability to create best in class sales material including animations, brochures, presentations and electronic data.
  • Demonstrate ability to articulate clearly, verbally and in writing, with strong all round communication and management skills.
  • Actively seek to adapt/increase existing knowledge of business capabilities, products, organisation and processes.
  • Ensure robust process and governance alignment whilst maintaining business winning principles.
  • Have credibility with new range of customers and peers.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a demanding business environment. Demonstrate ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to influence and present relevant and well-reasoned arguments and make timely informed decisions
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of Customers, particularly in the US is desirable but not essential.
  • An understanding of the US defence landscape is desirable but not essential.

Intrinsic Factors
The role will be office based, using display screen equipment, but often involve a substantial amount of international travel. This is an executive level role and will therefore attract an additional benefits package which will be discussed at offer stage.
