Howarth Morris are excited to be recruiting Management Accountant for a well-established and highly regarded SME business in the Wigan area. The role is a No.1 in finance and has been created to meet evolving business demand - due to the company having recently been acquired by an international group - you will report to the MD and Group CFO with a remit including:

Key Responsibilities

Monthly management accounts
Monthly overhead forecasting, reporting v budget and analysis of variances
Budget support and preparation for annual budget
Review costings process and procedures to improve accuracy of product costings
Group reporting
Stock management, purchase price variance analysis
Drive stock accuracy, and control slow moving and obsolete stock provision
Quarterly VAT returns
Provide a support service by working with all Departments and the Management team to help make financial decisions, and drive improvement with internal management information
Implement Group financial policies, risk management and internal controls
Control over all financial areas (insurance, health cover, pensions etc.)
Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial managers
Liaise with statutory auditors during annual audit
Ad hoc projects as directed by MD

Candidate Profile

Applicants will be CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or qualified by experience and will have worked in a similar profile role. You will have the experience and technical ability to support the MD with developing existing controls, processes and procedures to meet group requirements and the commercial acumen to develop Management Accounts and Management Information reporting suites to meet the needs of a local and international audience. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to take a highly visible, number 2 in finance role. Salary £35-45k plus benefits.
