Accountant - Support Centre

Our client provides licensed establishments with all of their bar and sundry supplies. They are more than just a distributor and at 24th place in the Sunday Times PWC Profit Track 100, they have become the fastest growing privately owned drinks company in Britain. Their aim is to provide the best customer service in the industry, as well as an impressive and extensive portfolio of products. Currently our client employs over 750 people and they have 15 depots across the UK as well as a Support Centre and Hub distribution centre based in Openshaw, in Manchester.

Reports To: Financial Controller

Core Duties

- Manage day to day Cashflow forecasting, maintaining cash flow model. Report and provide commentary on actual to forecast variances to the bank
- Approve supplier payment runs and manual payments
- Understand/prepare accounts and analysis on smaller group companies/LLP
- Director Loan Accounts
- Oversee payroll and intercompany balance sheet reconciliations
- HMRC payments
- Provide backup and assistance to the Management Accountant/Financial Controller
- Review company processes and document changes for implementation where required
- Maintenance of company budgets
- Payroll signatory – Authorise fortnightly payroll payments and ensure appropriate checks are in place
- Other ad-hoc duties as required

Knowledge and Experience

- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Essential evidence of successful operation of processes, procedures and controls to deadlines
- Previous experience as a Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner
- Have advanced IT skills, particularly MS Excel
- Qualified to ACCA or CIMA standard or equivalent, or be qualified by experience
- Essential accounts management experience
- Commercially aware
