Objectives of the job:

The focus for this temporary role is to provide cover for the purchase ledger function. In addition, your Manager may reasonably request that you perform other duties not included in this job description either on a temporary or permanent basis.


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Purchase Ledger

  • Maintain the purchase ledger system including supplier data, invoice data entry, VAT treatment, nominal coding, matching to repair/purchase order and co-ordination of authorisation process
  • Handle all purchase ledger related queries
  • Perform weekly payment runs and urgent cheque requests whenever necessary, ensuring creditor invoices are paid within the agreed timescales
  • Maintain register of invoices received pro-actively speaking with recipients to make sure invoices are returned in a timely manner and suppliers payment terms are adhered to
  • Reconcile supplier statements to invoices received, communicating errors, omissions or queries as appropriate
  • Provide scanned images of all purchase invoices
  • Manage filing system for all documents, archiving as required
  • Communication:

    Knowledge/Qualifications:

    ·5 GCSEs or equivalent

    Microsoft Excel at foundation levelMinimum of 2 years’ experience within an accounts department
