An exciting and important role within the Financial Control & Operations function of Close Asset Management Ltd Finance team has become available.The role offers the opportunity to develop and enhance existing skills, while assisting the team in its support of a business aiming to achieve significant growth in the UK wealth management market.

The primary focus of this role is to provide support to the Financial Controller in the day to day financial control and operational finance activities of the business. This work is critical in enabling the business to measure its financial performance and position along with maintaining a strong financial control environment.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include:

  • Completion of monthly cost bookings including accruals & prepayments
  • Variance analysis of costs against budget and forecast
  • Completion of month end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Payment approvals
  • Oversight of the Accounts Payable function and line management of the Accounts Payable Supervisor
  • Regular review of the risks within the Finance team and review and monitor of appropriate control processes in place
  • Completion of various reporting including National Statistics and Carbon reporting
  • Support for the Financial Planning & Analysis team when required
  • Various ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Financial Controller / Chief Financial Officer


  • ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with minimum two years post qualified industry experience
  • Strong academic record
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Experience within the Financial Services Industry an advantage
  • Experience in management / supervisory role an advantage
