Global Trade and Receivables Finance comprises over 4,500 people across more than 60 countries, helping suppliers and buyers with their export and import finance needs. Trade is where HSBC began in 1865, when we financed commerce between Europe, North America and Asia.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join this team in the role of Payments Administrator.

In this role, you will:

  • Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal, and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring, and the impact of new technology
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets by considering fairness in all aspects of strategy, product design and delivery, sales processes, customer literature and correspondence, financial promotions, administration, and complaint handling
  • Identify and deal with outsorted items and queries prior to batching of cheques
  • Provide an audit trail of payment history and action taken
  • Adhere to all relevant procedures, keep appropriate records, and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, include issues raised by external regulators
  • Address any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • GCSE qualifications or equivalent
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
  • A basic understanding of HSBC Invoice Finance's products and services is desirable
  • Basic accounting, banking or sales ledger experience is desirable
