About the role
We are looking for a qualified solicitor with significant experience in technology law, to join the Corporate and Technology team within Legal & Business Affairs. Reporting to Senior Counsel, you will be responsible for ensuring that the business has the necessary legal advice and support, documents and tools, policies and training for all of its technology transactions with suppliers worldwide. This Senior Legal Advisor role is covering a period of 9-12 months maternity leave.
You will provide timely and effective legal support to the technology support teams in the UK and the Philippines on a wide range of contracts and queries, including hosting, support and maintenance, Software as a Service and overarching framework agreements. You will further support the three global product groups in providing legal advice and drafting contracts for the development, hosting and support of their digital product offerings, via platforms, websites and other digital media.
Within the Corporate and Technology team you will also support the Senior Counsel in developing and implementing improved processes and procedures for contract management, to ensure that all matters can be dealt with efficiently and effectively to deliver a high-level of service to the business.
Along with sound and proven legal skills, you will be a strong communicator with a collaborative and supportive approach, providing expert guidance at a time and in a way which enables business colleagues to achieve their objectives. Whatever you are working on, you will be able to lead confidently on your own initiatives and projects, as well as working collaboratively with others in the team and wider organisation.
What do we look for in a Senior Legal Advisor?
You will be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or another common-law jurisdiction), with significant experience in advising on technology and IT contracts. You will be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge of, and technical expertise in, dealing with a varied caseload. You will feel confident in handling a broad range of non-contentious work, and your expertise in contract review, drafting and negotiation will allow you to work effectively, both with a high degree of autonomy and as part of the wider Corporate & Technology team. Your success will be further underpinned by your ability to work at pace, with a practical and pragmatic approach, when advising on a wide variety of day-to-day matters.
