Celsian Education are actively seeking for three SEN Teaching Assistants for a client based in Stockport. All three Teaching Assistant positions are due to start in December and will be full time.

About the school

The school in their latest Ofsted inspection received Good and now looking to improve further. The school are striving for excellence and it is important that everyone at the school understands what the school vision is, not only do staff members have their role to play but also pupils, parents and governors play a huge role in this vision. The aim of the school is to become motivated, engaged and successful learners, whilst experiencing the sense of achievement and enjoyment through learning. The pupils will contribute to their own learning and development, which they can feel proud of and contribute a positive impact on the local community through activities such as fund raising for charities.
Staff prepare engaging, structured lessons with a wide range of activities which meet the individual needs of each pupil. The staff work as a team with a clear and direct approach that acknowledges everyone's needs. The staff take a positive and rewarding approach towards behaviour and challenge negative behaviour.

About the role

Main responsibilities will be under the supervision of the teacher, provide support and addressing the needs of the pupils they will be supporting to overcome learning barriers.
· Supporting pupils
- Working with groups of children whilst under the guidance of the teacher and implementing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
- Provide pastoral support to pupils when needed.
- Supervise pupils which may have been removed from the classroom or pupils that are not working on a normal timetable.
· Supporting the teacher
- Assisting the teacher wherever possible to ensure the classroom remains safe at all times.
- Helping tidy up after lessons.
- Provide feedback on individual learners if working in a small group.

The Candidate

The candidate we are looking to recruit will be able to work in a challenging environment and be able to adapt to situations quickly and effectively without causing too much disruption to pupils routine. Candidates should be able to show the following also:
- Relevant qualifications e.g. NVQ, CACHE & Team teach (desirable)
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN (recent experience within last 2 years)
- Knowledge and understanding of SEN
- Use of initiative
- Resilient
- Approachable/Friendly
- Confident
