Robert Half Finance and Accounting are currently looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join an exciting Retail company experiencing huge growth based in Gloucester. For the right person the client is offering a very competitive:

£35,000 - £45,000 plus excellent benefits

Role responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Preparing weekly trading review reports, including analysis of the weekly movements by business units and discussion with business units Directors and providing margin information where needed
  • Assisting with budget preparation, forecasting and strategic plans and modelling
  • Responsible for loading and maintaining budgets and forecasts in ERP and Business information systems
  • Supporting development, implementation and maintenance of BI and ERP systems to enhance reporting throughout the business, analysing financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts
  • Responding to Ad hoc requests for information, analysis and assisting with meeting reporting requirements. Including assistance on preparation on board slides
  • Reporting and completing schedule on FX contracts and currency requirements
  • Writing SQL reports to extract data from SAP as and when needed
  • Variance analysis and KPI calculations including but not limited to analysis of overhead spend against trends and budgets to identify opportunities for improvement by working with FD, budget holders and heads of departments
  • Support to FD and other departments for financial modelling providing financial analysis on activities, plans, targets and business drivers
  • Providing assistance with project work to support strategic decision making regarding investments, acquisitions and other one off projects
  • Preparation of consolidated accounts
  • Assisting with all aspects of month end reporting and close
  • Maintaining the research and development reporting and amortisation calculation, including working closely with R&D department to have at all times full understanding of projects and costs

Person specification:

  • Qualified Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analytical skills with a logical approach
  • The ability to explain technical financial information clearly and at all levels
  • A strong drive for continual improvement and a positive approach to work
  • Organised and great time-management skills
  • Good IT skills including ERP and business system reporting
  • Have a strong attention for detail and accuracy
