This is an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Cost Accountant to join an impressive £100m t/o UK division of a leading Global Manufacturing Business ($20BN+ t/o) based on the outskirts of Liverpool. Reporting to the Commercial Manager this is a pivotal role in the business, where you will be required to provide cost accounting/ estimating support for a wide range of projects with key responsibilities including:

  • Supporting the Commercial Manager to accurately build a business case for new product opportunities.
  • Calculating the cost of products across the business
  • Analysing and reporting on large amounts of complex data
  • Visualising processes and lean manufacturing methods and building these into a formal costing model
  • Liaising with the Operations & Financial Controller to ensure that all internal costings are accurate, and that appropriate financial controls are in place.
  • Undertaking margin contribution calculations for the business
  • Monitoring, analysis and reporting on the impact of price / cost changes within the business.
  • Management Accounting

Applicants will have a proven track record of Cost Accounting within the manufacturing / engineering sector, will have a sound knowledge of management accounting as well as excellent communication skills to clearly relay financial information to non-finance Managers and the personality & gravitas to forge strong business partner relationships. Good Excel Skills are essential and SAP knowledge would be beneficial. Whilst CIMA, ACCA or ACA Qualification is preferred the Hiring Manager considers Cost Accounting experience, the personality and commercial acumen of applicants to be more important and as such applications from Non-Qualified Applicants are welcome.
