Our client’s plants operate as integrated recycling units, processing a variety of food wastes to produce renewable energy, heat and ReGrow, a nutrient-rich fertiliser for local farms. The plants also recycle the food waste packaging. The plants provide an environmentally-sustainable solution for all waste producers looking for a safe method of diverting food waste from landfill.
The Position:
Applications are invited to apply for the position of Supply Chain Apprentice based at their Dagenham Site. This is a full time permanent position, working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
As a Supply Chain Apprentice your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company’s requirements but will include:
•Engagement with a Transport/Supply Chain focused apprenticeship course of study, to be funded by the Company.•Assisting in managing the raw material supply chain.•Ensuring ad-hoc collections are handled in a timely manner and allocated to Driver PDA’s.•Maintaining annual leave calendar for Supply Chain/Transport staff.•Appealing any fines/penalty charge notices and requesting re-charge to Driver’s where appropriate.•Assisting in areas of compliance with company procedures and statutory obligations for vehicle operations, health & safety and other legislation.•Booking vehicle MOT’s, services and inspections in line with statutory requirements.•Ensuring satisfactory completion of vehicle defect sheets.•Maintaining driver records and drivers hours in line with EU rules regulation (EC) 561/2006.•Preparing vehicle KPI’s in line with their requirements.•Assisting with new customer set up in liaison with the Commercial Department. •Maintaining electronic and paper work logs, as used by the Department.•Maintaining relationships with current customers via telephone and email as and when required.
The Person:
•Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (including Maths and English).•Willingness to engage with a Transport/Supply Chain focused apprenticeship.•Strong desire to gain knowledge within the Transport/Supply Chain field. •Previous experience within an office based administrative role. •Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. •Excellent communication skills, time management and organisational skills. •Ability to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment.
