High profile sport business are looking for a Financial Accounting Manager to join the organisation, based at their HQ in London. Key to the role is the overall responsibility for the group’s financial information including external financial reporting, alongside effective cash and treasury management.

The Role –

Financial Reporting

·Responsible for year-end financial reporting including the Group and subsidiary financial statements and trust accounts

·Own the group accounting policies and provision of technical accounting advice as required

·Ownership of the month end close process (balance sheet and cash flow) working in conjunction with Commercial Finance

·Ownership of month-end balance sheet and cash flow reporting

·Preparation of papers for Group Audit Committee and attendance where appropriate

·Ensure appropriate controls are in place over financial reporting processes


·Responsible for the cash management of the group including management of the group’s hedging programme (execution of trades and maintaining documentation) and oversight of banking covenant reporting

·Cash flow reporting (budget and forecast)

·Management of the Group’s insurance programme

Financial Accounting Systems

·Business owner of the financial accounting systems, ensuring technology is being used to its full capability to run and manage financial reporting processes


·Management and development of the financial accounting team of 4 direct reports.

·Build and manage the relationships with key stakeholders including commercial finance, financial operations, tax, external auditor, internal audit (outsourced), banking relationship managers, insurance brokers etc.

The Person -

·Qualified accountant with significant years PQE

·Working knowledge of financial accounting standards (FRS 102) and experience of preparing financial statements and reconciliations

·Experience of leading and developing a team

·Building and managing strong relationships both internally and with external organisations

·Experience of leading change including identifying improvements in processes and systems and challenging the status quo

·Excellent written and oral communication skills
