OverviewThe Outsourcing and Business Services team in London are on the look out for a technical, detailed and efficient Management Accountant to join our busy Small Business Services team. This role would suit a junior, but ambitious Management Accountant with a strong technical skill-set, who has the ability to work at pace balancing multiple priorities and excellent communication skills.

This individual will be responsible for the provision of bookkeeping, management accounting, payroll, UK VAT and related services, on a regular basis, to a portfolio of clients. The accounting records will be maintained on Xero / Sage / QuickBooks accounting software – giving you the chance to show off your technical abilities and the genuine interest in developing your abilities within this area.

ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for the update of accounting records from the information and documentation made available.Ensuring the reconciliation of all major control accounts, the preparation of notes and draft management reporting for review by the portfolio supervisor.You will be provided with a good level of client exposure – allowing you the opportunity to develop and maintain good client relations.Liaising with clients to obtain and clarify information as well as ensuring a high level of service.Coordinate the preparation of UK VAT and related returns.Prepare payrolls for allocated clients, whilst meeting required deadlines.Ensuring that all assignments are carried out within specified time-frames.Ensuring delivery of reporting in line with client / HM Revenue & Customs / statutory deadlines.Ensuring that all hours worked on assignments are correctly recorded.Generic accounts administration and the opportunity to showcase your efficient working methods by meeting specific deadlines set.You will communicate regularly with the Portfolio Supervisor on daily updates on progress and reporting.Qualifications, skills and experienceYou will have 2 years + experience within Management Accounts/Bookkeeping team – all within a practice environment (this is essential).Excellent bookkeeping skills and fully experienced in the preparation of UK VAT, related returns and management reportingA super-user of Xero, Word and Excel, with the experience of Sage, QuickBooks and similar accounting solutions.Good knowledge of UK VAT and related legislation.Accuracy and attention to detail as well as strong organisation and time management skills.You must be able to communicate well – written and verbal.Confident when dealing with clients and getting your views across.Methodical and logical thinking.Team player.Use initiative to identify problems and provide solutions.If you would like to discuss this opportunity further, or are keen on making an application, either follow the 'apply' button, or get in touch with our Recruitment Team.
