SEND Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Support – Term Time

Location: Aurora Brambles School, Lancashire PR26 7TB

Salary: £16,000 per annum (term time only – 40 hours per week Mon – Fri - 39 weeks). Full Year Equivalent salary £18,613

Hours: Term Time (39 weeks) Monday to Friday 40 hours per week Aurora Brambles School is an independent school in Lancashire providing specialist education for boys at Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH).

As a Teaching Assistant at Brambles you will be fully supporting the pupils not only in education but also with their emotional needs and behavioural challenges. This isn’t a typical role. Your day starts by picking up pupils from their homes and supporting them to attend school, working with them throughout the day and enabling a successful transition back home.

Being a driver is therefore an essential part of the role although having your own transport isn’t necessarily required as you will be provided with a school vehicle for the transport duties.

In school you will carry out a range of duties, supporting all elements of learning from basic life skills through to academic achievement and personal development.

If you are passionate about giving children and young people life chances that will shape their future, as well as being resilient, tolerant and determent, then you may well be the person we are looking for.

As well as providing competitive salary and benefits, including life assurance and high street discounts, you will be provided with training to ensure you feel confident in all areas of the role and the ability to undertake professional development in order to progress.

Aurora is an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special needs and disabilities.

The Aurora Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children and young adults in our care. Successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment safeguarding checks including an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.
