The ALS Next Generation Scheme is designed to identify talented future leaders.
The scheme provides individuals with a national apprenticeship qualification alongside fast track route to management. As an ALS Apprentice you will work within the Distribution Centre experiencing all aspects of the Warehouse operation. You will work in all depot departments to support Asda's Top Talent Apprenticeship Programme. You’ll be surrounded by state-of-the-art technology that helps us move, stack and track goods. Better still, you'll be part of a close-knit team with one shared purpose - to get the right products to the right stores, at the right time.
Our Depots come in all shapes and sizes, employing anywhere between 200 and 1,200 colleagues. Meaning you could play an important part in keeping us up and running in our busy Warehouse Depots where great customer service starts with you. You will report to your mentor who will be the Shift Manager along with attending monthly visits with your Babcock Vocational Learning Adviser who will support your learning and development throughout your apprenticeship. Babcock is an award winning training provider

Role Summary

  • Using all our handling equipment (don’t worry, we’ll fully train you on how to use all the equipment safely and effectively
  • You’ll be ‘picking’ goods by Store or product group and there are standards of performance required within each Depot, so you’ll need to be able to work under pressure and follow procedure
  • Occasionally you might feel like you’re working alone using our systems but don’t worry we will give you clear instructions on what you need to do
  • We’re one big team, so we’re looking for helpful, outgoing people who can get along with and support others
  • Completion of logistic based modules to gain the following qualifications
  • Level 2 – Equivalent to Intermediate GNVQ or 4 - 5 GCSE passes, these provide the skills an employee needs for their chosen career and provide a good platform for progression onto to an advanced apprenticeship.
  • Level 3 – Equivalent to 2 A level passes, these frameworks develop first line management skills and/or advanced technical skills.
