The role

To provide secretarial support on a full time basis to fee earners within the WTTP team in Manchester.

Key responsibilities

  • Audio and copy typing skills using digital dictation

  • Produce accurate letters and documents

  • Assist fee earners with their caseloads

  • Deal with client enquiries on the telephone and face to face

  • Provide PA support, for example arranging meetings and booking meeting rooms

  • Collect and coordinate incoming and outgoing post

  • Scan post and documents onto an electronic file

  • Produce documents and make amendments to correspondence where required

  • Co-ordinating billing by printing and saving bills to electronic case files

  • Financial management for example raising cheque requests and paying in cheques received

  • File management ie physically and electronically opening, closing and archiving files ensuring all relevant procedures are followed

  • Work in conjunction with other members of the team and provide assistance where necessary

The person specification
  • Previous experience of working in an secretarial role, preferably a Private Client department of a law firm

  • Previous experience using digital dictation systems

  • Ability to deal with confidential information

  • Strong administration and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload

  • Show initiative and be enthusiastic and self-motivated

  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in speaking with clients

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel

  • Good team spirit and ability to work as part of a team
