Our Client is an instantly recognisable brand In the Retail sector, with Centrally based offices in Leeds, with easy access from motorway networks and free parking.
The business is embarking on an exciting new Change programme across a number of areas and are looking for long term support from a Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent Accountant who can assist them with their Finance Systems implementation across a number of projects. This is an 18 month contract role, with the possibility of being made permanent.
The role will take responsibility for:
*Project management and ownership of a key transformation work stream including delivery of the following:
oCreate and deliver project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing requirements;
oIdentify resource requirements and assign responsibilities;
oManage day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) with clear issues/actions logs in place;
oEnsure project documents are completed and process documentation exists for all completed projects to formalise accounting flows and maintain key process knowledge;
oLiaise between the business users, IT and the wider business to ensure user requirements are fully identified and implemented; and
oDeliver change communication across the wider Accounting Centre to enable all departments to successfully support the implementation of key projects.
*Proactively identify opportunities for improved efficiency across all areas of the Accounting Centre, providing finance support to transactional departments in the areas of reconciliations and process reviews.
*Subject matter expert for key systems, ensuring a robust control framework sits across all financial platforms.
*Responsibility for controls over General Ledger integrity and the month end reporting process, ensuring the chart of accounts can support effective and meaningful financial reporting.
*Take on when required a diverse range of project work outside of your work stream to satisfy the current and fast changing needs of the business.

*Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to present and communicate at a senior level
