Bright Horizons have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our established finance team, on a permanent basis.

As a Management Accountant you will be responsible for the development, production and review of management reports which provide relevant and timely information on the financial performance of the business. This will include but is not restricted to the production and review of monthly management accounts, balance sheets (including balance sheet reconciliations), forecasts, budgets and statutory accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for timely and accurate production of management accounting transactions required to get the accounting information into a presentable format for monthly accounts.
  • Reviewing of P&L’s to ensure all transactions are appropriate
  • Responsibility for completion and timely distribution of the Divisional Operational Reports, reporting findings to the Operational Accounts Manager.
  • Providing monthly financial information specifically the completion and review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring the relevant back up data is available for evidence
  • Production and review of the monthly forecasts and annual budget.
  • Reviewing and auditing the family management system maintaining its accuracy.
  • Assisting in managing external audit process and liaise with external auditors
  • Preparation of statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS for BHFS Ltd, Dormant Accounts, Ireland or the foundation as allocated.
  • Continual development of procedures and practices, improving current methods and keeping up to date with changes within the business, financial regulations and the market place.
  • Acting as the source of expertise in relation to accounting controls, financial accounts format and disclosure, accounting policies, taxation.
  • Overview of SARBOX compliance (including IPE’S). Maintaining the financial controls are procedure manuals to adhere to the approvals matrix
  • Reviewing, supporting and liaising in the collection of Client debt
  • Performing ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Responding appropriately to issues requiring confidentiality.
  • Explaining complex financial information to non-finance staff, and support them with finance based queries.
